With the 2026 version featuring a more powerful electric motor, its acceleration could see further improvement. In comparison, the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid completed the same run in 7.3 seconds. This makes the Tucson Hybrid a strong contender in the hybrid SUV market, offering a blend of speed, efficiency, and smooth performance.

Range, Charging, and Battery Life

The Tucson PHEV is equipped with a 13.8-kWh battery pack, providing an EPA-estimated 33 miles of all-electric driving range. This allows for short commutes or city driving without using any gasoline. The vehicle comes with a 7.2-kW onboard charger, which makes it possible to fully recharge the battery in around two hours when plugged into a Level 2 charging station. 

When combined with a full tank of gas, the Tucson PHEV offers a total highway range of 380 miles, as demonstrated in real-world testing.
